Offered full-time or part-time, John Molson's Master of Science (MSc) in Finance is a research-based graduate business program. Graduates of the program have strong quantitative and analytical abilities and a solid understanding of economic theory and research methodology.
The first half of this 45-credit program is course-based, with core and elective courses. The second half is thesis-based, where you work with a supervisor on your chosen research topic. Full-time students can complete the program in 2 years. Canadian citizens and Permanent residents may pursue part-time studies and complete the program in 3 or 4 years.
Although you should have a fairly developed idea of what you might like to research in the program, you do not need to have a thesis supervisor or thesis proposal in order to be accepted into the program. Please keep in mind that professors do not accept to supervise students before they have completed the course-based portion of the MSc program.
